Joe co-founded LexFusion, the premiere legal tech accelerator and advisor to innovation-minded law firms and corporate legal departments, and served as its chief executive officer before its 2025 acquisition by Baretz+Brunelle.
A consummate connector, Joe has spent his career introducing legal practitioners to relevant technologies and process-driven innovations that improve their performance. At LexFusion--and now at B+B—he has curated a collective of world-class legal tech companies and other innovators that serve corporate and law firm clients. At LexFusion, Joe accelerated market adoption for leading legal technology companies, contributing to numerous high-profile exits including the successful acquisitions of Casetext by Thomson Reuters in 2023 and Agiloft by KKR in 2024. The depth of LexFusion’s insights into the business of law, operations, and technological innovation have made it a valued resource to hundreds of law firms and law departments.
Before co-founding LexFusion, Joe became an early leader in legal innovation at Pangea3, a pioneering legal process outsourcing firm with more than 1,000 attorneys across India, Europe, and the United States. He served as a global director there and remained in leadership roles through Pangea3’s acquisition by Thomson Reuters, where he also served as director of innovation. Later, as managing director at EY Law, Joe continued to manage the Pangea3 team and consulted to many of the largest companies in the world on legal department modernization. For years, as an author, he covered tech-centric trends in legal services and the entrepreneurs driving them in alt.Legal, a regular column on Above the Law.
Joe began his legal career as a litigation associate at Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, and received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and a certificate in business and public policy from the Wharton School. Joe is founding member of the advisory board of the University of Pennsylvania Carey School of Law’s Institute for the Future of the Legal Profession.
