Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; major in business, communications, marketing, economics, finance, political science or related field preferred; and 3+ years’ experience in public relations.

About the Position
Baretz+Brunelle is a growth advisory firm to elite businesses in the new legal economy. This position entails managing client relationships on every level, including coordinating the development and execution of client strategy, conducting media outreach, spearheading research assignments, and managing teams and budgets. Candidates must possess strong leadership skills and superior written and verbal communication skills and take the lead in managing day-to-day operations on projects and clients. They should be creative, show good judgment, and be team players. Familiarity with social media is required. Ideally, candidates should understand details of the inner workings of law firms and the greater legal economy.

  • Act as primary point of contact for client accounts, manage client relationships and budgets, including billing, and maintain an excellent working relationship with clients.
  • Take the lead in managing day-to-day operations on projects and clients.
  • Analyze basic information for research projects and be able to explain analysis to internal parties and clients, both verbally and in writing.
  • Consistently identify stories/trends that can be turned into opportunities for clients.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of all clients, including their practices, lawyers, differentiators, and more, with the ability to look forward and identify problems and opportunities.
  • Participate in business development activities with senior team members and individually when appropriate.
  • Assist in and generate leads and execute development of pitch decks for new business development, proposals, RFPs, etc.
  • Conceive, direct, and execute innovative growth strategies for assigned client accounts.
  • Develop communications plans, competitive analyses, press releases, byline articles, and a variety of media pitches.
  • Oversee project management with Asana.
  • Develop relationships with targeted publications and reporters and utilize Muck Rack and other product databases to identify and pitch media contacts.
  • Work collaboratively with clients’ in-house staff and other outside vendors.
  • Proactively seek networking and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain working knowledge of industry trends and developments.
  • Conduct issue research on a variety of legal, business, and financial topics.
  • Assist with B+B marketing efforts, as needed.
  • Manage, delegate, and develop internal staff as needed.
